Ward Solutions Meeting

The next Ward Solutions Meeting will be 28th September at the Blackburn Golf Club. It starts at 6.30pm.

Grass Cutting

After pressure from Conservative Councillors across the Borough, the ruling Labour Group "found" the money to recommence the grass cutting cycle on the land they had previously left to grow wild. This policy encouraged littering, caused problems with dog fouling and in some areas proved to be a traffic hazard. We are glad that our pressure forced this u-turn. Any unadopted land will again not be cut but the Council has announced its intentions to make equipment available for community group usage to maintain these areas. If you have an interest in participating in this please contact us.

Planning Update

At the recent Planning Committee meeting on the 15th September the application for a Prayer Facility on the site of the Beardwood Gardens Nursery car park was deferred. The planning application was recommended for refusal on planning and environmental grounds. The highways issue and lack of parking within the site means this application would cause major issues in this solely residential area. This is likely to be referred back to the November planning committee.

Addition Planned To Bus Route Through Beardwood with Lammack

The route has now been altered to include the new health centre but doesn't affect any stops within Beardwood with Lammack. Your Councillors are continuing to push for more frequent services and an extension to the timetable.

Nationally

We welcome the drive towards tougher sentences for those involved in the recent riots and hope this signals an intention by the government to crack down on criminal and antisocial behaviour throughout the country.

Building A Better Future

The Party’s Over!
Reality hits home - bringing the country
back to it’s senses

The reality of the Economic situation hits home. Nationally Labour messed up. Locally Labour councillors can’t believe that the cash cow
of central government has dried up. Labour in Blackburn , including our own MP, Jack Straw, will blame anyone but their own party.

HELP ALWAYS WELCOME.

If you are ever seized with a desire to help your local Conservatives then just email us by clicking HERE.

There is no need to join the Conservative party - just a desire to help in supporting and representing our residents.

We would always welcome help with distributing leaflets and there will be plenty to do at election times.
